Our Story

A Heritage of Three Generations

My grandparents purchased this farm in 1954 when my father was five years old. They raised their family here; raised a lot of livestock; and farmed corn, soybeans, and wheat. They attended a local church their entire lives, and over 60 years of marriage, where they grew in their faith. My parents built a home here when they were pregnant with me in 1978, raised their family, and celebrated 50 years of marriage here as well.

A love for God, family, others, nature, the simpler things in life, and a strong work ethic were all instilled in me here. This farm has always been home to me no matter where my life journey has taken me through the years.

The Carpenter Shop, Dad's custom cabinets and furniture business, began in 1991 although he and my granddad had done carpentry out of the farm shop his entire life. Out of his trade and faith, he and my mother began the Clinging Crosses in 2014.

After 20 years away for college and work in full-time ministry, I returned to the farm in 2016 and began helping with the Crosses in addition to continuing work in ministry in our local community. Combining my father and grandfather's trade as carpenters and our faith in the Ultimate Carpenter, The Carpenter's Farm was named and my Christian Counseling practice was added here in 2023.

We've faced many joys and sorrows on the farm. We've known the impact of addiction in a family, we've known the grief and loss from cancer, and we've known the heartbreak and crushing pain life can bring. However, we've also known the faithfulness of God to be with us, love us, sustain us, strengthen us, heal us, and work all things together for good.

For my entire life, our family has walked and prayed over this farm and wanted it to be dedicated for God's purposes and His glory. From the trustworthy and quality Carpentry business that has blessed numerous homes and families, to the Crosses that have been shared with thousands over the years, to the new Counseling services offered, we continue to pray The Carpenter's Farm is a place of Heritage, Hope, and Healing for years to come.
